Program Overview

Built on the tradition of the Dwight D. Eisenhower’s commitment to public service and exemplary leadership attributes, this college-level program is designed for highly motivated high school students who have a passion for understanding American government and who wish to refine their leadership skills. The experience presents student leaders with challenging academic questions, real-world situations, and exposure to leading experts in the field. The program considers the political structures, personalities, and contexts that define leadership in the American political system. Participants attend college-level lectures, engage in small discussion sessions, and participate in debates, simulations, and presentations.  Student leaders are exposed to cutting-edge research in political science, as well as real-world experiences, including a field trip to Washington D.C. and contact with political leaders.
